Scrambling & Encryption
Land Mobile Radio Security Scramblers:
460 SERIES CVD LEVEL 3 HOPPING CODE
By changing codes 1000 times/sec., this FlashCall compatible module transmits a signal which is indecipherable the most motivated listeners. Transcrypt's 460 Series offers voice privacy protection against determined and technically capable listeners.
Although the scrambled audio produced by the module is unintelligible, the recovered voice quality (even at the high level of security) remains excellent. In fact, each of Transcrypt's scrambling modules deliver clear natural sounding audio that has been judged superior by experienced secure radio users.
The 460 Series module offers complete compatibility with FlashCall™, Transcrypt's own signaling protocol. This feature furnishes the full use of Over-The-Air-Reprogramming (OTAR), Automatic Number Identification (ANI), Stun, Selective Calling, Status Messaging, and Emergency Notification. Lost radios can also be disabled remotely; thus, eliminating any advantage an unwanted listener can gain from acquiring a radio.
The 460 Series is installable into hundreds of makes and models of two-way radios. The module is added to the internal radio structure and leaves the actual size of the radio unaltered. Unlike digital methods of voice security, Transcrypt's scrambling modules have a limited affect on the radio's range and system performance factors. Minimal power requirements also allow the 460 Series to operate effectively without reducing the life of the radio's battery.
Compatibility - offers the ability to install high quality voice security into hundreds of makes and models of two-way radios.
Very Low Power Requirements - limits the affect on the battery life of portable radios.
Voice Quality - provides clear, natural sounding speech and excellent voice recognition, while operating in the secure mode.
Radio Hop Rate - offers high level privacy by hopping codes over 1000 times a second.
Normal Voice Band Operation - allows for the unaffected use of system's sub-audible signaling options, including transparent operation through repeaters.
Over-The-Air-Reprogramming (OTAR) - allows security codes to be changed by remote commands while radios remain in the field and operational.
Radio Disable Function - provides the ability to disable radios which have been lost or stolen. A disabled radio will be unable to receive or transmit any messages; thus, eliminating any advantage an undesired listener would gain from stealing a radio.
Automatic Receive Operation - allows for the automatic detection of both clear and coded incoming signals. This feature prevents the inconvenience of manually switching a radio between clear and coded communication modes.
