Fylde
Regional Control Processor:
RCP.-
The
Regional Control Processor is one of two elements required in
the 'Regional Node' of a multi site MPT1327 trunked system.
In this context we define a multi-site system as a system having
between 2 and 10 sites and which enables mobile to roam between
these sites.
This enables both inter-site communication and links to and
from the PSTN/PABX.
For a 'Regional Node' we require an RCP and a PCM Switch.
Data
Routing
The RCP operates as a regional 'data switch' for the system
enabling the sites to be inter-connected.
Audio
Routing
In a Fylde multi-site system, audio lines are patched with
a centrally located Fylde PCM Switch.
The
RCP
The RCP is a 5U high 19" rack mount unit, fully compatible
with the European EMC emission and radiation specifications.
Connections
to the RCP
Inter-site links are established via permanent RS232 links
from the SCI at each site. This may be through microwave or
leased line modems.
To
convey audio between sites, each traffic channel on each site
required to operate as an intersite channel must be connected
via a speech circuit (leased line or microwave) to the PCM
Switch located at the regional node.
